New Zealand’s Parliament passed the 2nd reading of the Organic Products and Produce Bill on 27 October 2022. The final reading where the Bill becomes an Act is expected early next year.
Since August 2022, Organic Farm New Zealand (OFNZ) has worked with the Ministry of Primary Industry (MPI) on the proposed new standards. This has been a positive and robust experience.
As an advocate for organic New Zealand growers, OFNZ is hosting a Forum to share its position, learn more from members and interested parties and as a result improve its submission which is due 23 December.
We believe that an open, transparent and inclusive process will ensure we get the optimum result. To be admitted you will need to register below. A copy of our draft submission to help our discussion will be distributed to all registrants shortly.
