Garlic Growing Workshop (& Farm Fundraiser)
April 15 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
$80Spend 1.5 hours with experienced organic grower Jenny Lux going through garden bed preparation, spacing, fertilisation and crop care, so you can have your best shot at growing decent garlic for year round supply.
We know that in the last few years it has become increasingly difficult to grow good garlic with the widespread abundance of garlic rust fungus, however, if you nourish and feed your plants well, and have the right varieties, you can still succeed.
The workshop price includes taking away 6 garlic heads (approximately 60 cloves to plant) of the best organic varieties that Jenny has had success with in the last few years. At home you will need 2.4 to 4.8 square metres of garden space to plant, from April/May to November.
This last season has been exceptionally bad for growing, and yet our garlic was fantastic. The workshop is priced as a farm fundraiser for Lux Organics, to help cover all the other crop losses we have had. Thank your for your contribution.
Parents/caregivers can bring school aged children along for free (under their supervision). BYO lunch if you’d like to stay and chat afterwards.
Poor weather postponement date: Saturday 22 April 2023
