Bay of Plenty

About the Regional Body

The Bay of Plenty region was established in 2001 when a pod was formed in Opotiki area as part of the original trial of the small scale organic producers certification scheme development.

The main purpose of OFNZ BOP is to promote understanding of sustainable farming practices and encouraging adherence to organic standards through the commitment and guarantee that certification with OFNZ confirms.

It is governed by the OFNZ BOP Regional Committee.

Geography

The BOP Region covers producers from Hicks Bay in the southeast to Katikati in the northwest.
